It was armed with a single Lewis machine–gun, set in a difficult to reach position over the upper wing and when used in balloon busting with four Le Prieur rockets on each side.

Nieuport 16 (De Guibert)

Henri De Guibert earned his flight license as a civilian, and once enlisted he became a French aviation pilot, and scored his first victory in his Nieuport 16 on July 21, 1916. After 19 years of service, he was honored as Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur.
